Week 3 - Analyzing the industries

It is well known that any industry faces specific challenges from time to time. It is very important to timely and correctly analyze the shortcomings of the industry, its problems and the consequences of these problems. A thorough analysis can solve half of all problems. For us, as entrepreneurs and software developers, this is an excellent opportunity to show our innovative IT solutions to the whole country, and possibly, to even the whole world.

Employment industry (actually not)

In the current reality, getting a job after graduating from university is a very big problem, because companies require working experience from their candidates. Since unemployment is increasing in our country, we provide a solution so that students could gain working experience. In other words, we are initiating a startup, which is called “Mentorship”. The main goal of this startup is to provide initial working experience for future specialists.

Mentorship is a cross platform app which can help inexperienced students to find a job. It is very difficult for students to find an outsourced order, and it is always important to get experience for those who want to work when they graduate from university. For example, in the field of IT, a senior or middle developer, who is engaged in freelancing alongside his main job, may have difficulty with completing the order. So, he could share the amount of routine work with a junior developer by being his mentor. In this case, a couple of extra hands will never hurt, since performing one routine work is not very effective. Instead, the senior/middle developer could devote time to new tasks / ideas, and for the junior developer, this is a chance to increase their experience in this area by following the instructions of the senior / middle developer.

The goal of the project is not only to employ the majority of students, but also to increase the level of work of small companies that do not have enough workers, so competition among companies will grow and the industry will also grow. Pay attention to the statistics of unemployment in Kazakhstan:

The problem is that most young people do not know where to go after higher education, and teachers do not give special instructions. As a result, there is unemployment in our country and a low range of specialists who cannot further develop our country.

Our solution for such a global problem:

Remove the barrier between inexperienced students and workers, give an example of real work for students using the site/app to exchange work forces and experience. The main advantage of which is free outsourcing, in which students without work experience can find a suitable job in the specialty, and employees with experience free/ or partially paid labor.

Education industry

Nowadays, in the situation of pandemic over the world, many countries have announced a quarantine regime. Thus, the work of many industries became slower: workers have to work in distance, students have to study in distance, etc. Here we suggest some solutions for the improvement of the educational system.

According to okulyk.kz, there are a lot of problems in the new system of distance education. Firstly, Zoom was picked as a main web meeting platform. But the first online trial lesson revealed a number of problems, concerning internet connection. Even the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted the poor performance of this training system. At a meeting of the state commission on a state of emergency, he spoke about the failure of online learning and the transition to distance learning.

Teachers and students without technical knowledge faced a problem in learning a lot of new apps for distance education, so it took weeks to learn them. And still many teachers conduct their lessons on messengers like Whatsapp. They have to use many services at once and that may cause problems of low learning curve. Especially when there are no clear guides on Kazakh language how to use them. Even we’re using several platforms like Google meetings, Slack, Telegram and Discord for one purpose. For other lessons we’re using Google Classroom, Google Docs, Cisco WebEx meetings and Moodle. You see that to be fully educated we have to use so many platforms. We’re confident in it because we’re IT students. But what about the others? Just regular non-IT people? We have a solution for you.

We have a solution for you

A big online education platform will help us with it. We noticed that school teachers liked simple Whatsapp messengers a lot. Thus, we offer to create a super app which will contain all the features in chatting of messengers like Slack (multichannel chats), voice channels from Discord, web meeting from Cisco WebEx meetings, classroom/course system of Google Classroom and Moodle and sync with Kundelik.kz. It will solve the problem of learning different services not related to each other, poor documentation in Kazakh language (since developers are from KZ, we of course will write a Kazakh documentation), etc. We will provide a unified state platform for online education and it won’t be necessary to use so many platforms not depending on us.

Home appliances / furniture industry

Among the manufacturing industry we chose furniture manufacturing and household appliances. As you can see from the statistics below provided by KazDATA in Kazakhstan, 1,296 (135 more than in April 2018) legal entities are engaged in furniture production. There is not a single major furniture manufacturer among them. Among the existing furniture manufacturers: 1) major small organizations with no more than 50 employees and 2) 6 medium-sized ones, from 51 to 250 employees.

The same situation happens in the household appliances industry. In terms of growth rates, the world market for household appliances and electronics ranks first in the consumer goods sector, as well as second in terms of sales after food products. So, there is a local competition between the companies and there is no monopoly. It creates good conditions for individual entrepreneurship and small companies. Unfortunately, in order to survive small companies really need customers. Thus, we offer you a platform for companies where they can exhibit their products and find customers.

A constructor for household appliances/furniture provides the ability to choose a graphic appearance for household appliances or furniture. We will improve the "Parameters" function , so a customer can see and configure certain household appliances/furniture for themselves. Will be available, such as the changes: texture, width & length, color, etc.

Later, we plan to set up Artificial Intelligence (when you enter the camera on a specific area AI can calculate the width & length itself, and so on. ). It will help small companies to find their customers and understand what furniture/household appliances do people need.
